Dear Friends,
Sending you best wishes as I leave Dongyu Gatsal Ling Nunnery.
The nuns and Jetsunma seem to be very happy these days here at DGL. We've had lama dances at Khampagar Monastery in Tashi Jong, HH Dalai Lama has been giving us teachings and empowerments in Rewalsar. Our nuns are about to study for their finals. Jetsunma is busy teaching a special retreat at Deer Park in Bir before she leaves for Bhutan.
Our temple is near completion, Evan and I have had great meetings with Manu our site foreman finalizing plans for the guesthouse and picking out floor and wall tiles etc, we hope to see most of these jobs completed on our next October visit, hopefully including Monica (who recently broke her ankle and is home in Sydney) Also are we been working with all teaching staff at implementing our new curriculum program.
At our request our nuns performed a Tara Puja and a Chod Puja (three hours) for the well-being and healing of the names we put forth (and all sentient beings, of course). One of our senior nuns Tsultrim Palmo practiced pronouncing the 70 plus names that were read beforehand. It was a clear, warm, glorious day here. So moving to experience the sound and energy of the nuns' chod drums and chanting. It is truly beautiful to see our nuns taking their practice to heart.
With much Metta. Eliz
