Lotus foot, Lily foot slippers first appeared in China in the 11th century despite earlier outlawing of this custom foot binding continued until well into the 1930'. I met many women with Lotus feet in Singapore when I first came to live here 18yrs ago. These slippers have been worn they measure 6.5 inches.
